School Information

School Times

School Day: 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Students can be dropped off between 7:45 a.m. and 8:10 a.m. and they will be supervised in the gym.

Students should not be on the grounds before 7:45 a.m. because there is no adult supervision until that time. Students on school grounds before 7:45 a.m. will be the responsibility of their parents. The school can not assume responsibility for students before the 7:45 a.m. time. Latchkey is available before school to students who regularly need morning supervision.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 8:10 a.m.

Latchkey Services: Before school, 6:30 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. After school, 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Emergency School Closings

It shall be the policy of the Holy Family School Board that the decision to cancel for the day or have a late start will be made by the principal or their designee. If there is a late start, Latchkey Services WILL NOT be provided during their regular hours. For example, if there is a two hour late start, Latchkey will not open at their regular time of 6:30 and will open two hours later, at 8:30.

Listen to WHO-1040 Radio, Channel 13, or Channel 8 for information on late starts, school closings, or early dismissal due to inclement weather. Holy Family School will be listed as "Holy Family School - Des Moines."

Records

Birth and baptismal certificates are needed at Kindergarten registration or first time registrations. We will make a copy for permanent files.

Baptism and First Eucharist certificates are needed by all incoming 8th graders at registration time.
